Nails Inc Sprinkles - Sweets Way

Nails Inc Sprinkles - Sweets Way

I've been after the Nails Inc Sprinkles polishes for a while now as they look so gorgeous, but I've held off buying them as they're £11 each, so I was really chuffed to find a set of 3 on the QVC website for only £19! I snapped them up and am really pleased I did, they are so unusual. I had to try Sweets Way first as it looked so lovely in the bottle and I'm pleased to say it looks every bit as good on the nail - I can't stop looking down at it! It's a sheer white base packed with white, blue and pink glitter which is opaque in 2 coats. The polish goes on really well and you get a lot of glitter on the nail, it is chunky glitter so is a bit rough to the touch, but nothing that a slick of top coat wont fix.

Suffice to say I can't wait to try the other two - Sugar House Lane, a nude with black sprinkles and Topping Lane, a pink with purple sprinkles - yum! :-)

Sally Hansen Dorian Grey

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Dorian Grey

Imagine my glee when I found this little lovely lurking on the shelves of my local Poundland. These retail for £6.99 in Superdrug and are in the current line, so I've no idea how they got stock of it, but I'm glad they did! Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Dorian Grey is a lovely colour, really sophisticated and a great shade for work. I wasn't sure if grey would wash me out, I'm very pale after all, but this works really well with my skin tone (or at least I think it does!). This is opaque in two coats, but could do with a third and has one of the wider brushes which I LOVE. I've read mixed reviews of these style of brushes as some people find them difficult to control, but I think they're just great, you have the whole nail covered in one or two strokes of the brush and there is hardly any clean up required as it fits the shape of your nail bed.

This is my new favourite shade and I'll be keeping an eye out next time I'm in Poundland to see if they have any more shades from the range.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid
I do love a good lipbalm, but I also like to save my pennies, so one of my favourite ways to buy them is with my Boots Advantage Card. I'd heard a lot of good things about Lanolips products and so used my points towards one. I steered clear of the original formula as it was unscented and I like a little perfume with my products, so instead I opted for Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid with Organic Lemon Oil, which is naturally exfoliating and contains medical grade lanolin. I found the lemon scent quite subtle and if I slick on quite a bit of this it smells a bit greasy which isn't so pleasant. There is a lovely subtle shimmer in this and it is quite moisturising, but at £9.18 (or 918 points in my case) I was expecting a bit more - I hate to say it, but I prefer my trust old Carmex which at a couple of pounds a pot beats this hands down.

H&M Disney Snow White Nail Polish

H&M Snow White Nail Polish in 'Make me blush'

Today I picked up a lovely little bottle (or so I thought) of H&M Snow White polish I'd been eyeing up for a while - mainly due to the packaging. I choose 'Make me blush' which is a really gorgeous peachy pink shade with a hint of shimmer, but there was also a frosty white 'Snow white' and a silver hex and micro glitter 'Silver frost' available. At only £1.99 it was a bargain, especially when you consider the bottle size is a whopping 15mls and the pack looks so nice. Sadly the formula didn't live up to expectations, not sure I have the right to grumble at only £1.99, but I do like to get my money's worth! I found the brush much too thin and so it was really tricky to apply, I either got too much or too little polish on it and so it was very uneven, it also took an AGE to dry! It is a nice colour once done, although maybe a bit pale for my already pasty skin, here it is at two coats, but I think it could do with a third, as it's patchy in places and sadly the hint of shimmer didn't transfer onto the nail. :-(

Not sure I'd buy anymore H&M polishes if the formula is like this, which is a shame as I've read so many good reviews of them and the colours look nice, but I don't think I have the patience for another polish war like I had tonight!

UPDATE
Since my post (only an hour or two ago) little holes have appeared on the surface of the polish! It looks really odd and has only happened on a couple of my nails. I've never had a polish do this and it's under a Sally Hansen top coat - any ideas? :-(

Soap & Glory Pulp Friction

Soap & Glory Pulp Friction

I absolutely adore Soap & Glory products - their packaging, scents and formulas are just great. Pulp Friction is no different; a fruity foaming body scrub scented with ‘Fruitigo’ which has notes of ‘frozen yuzu, orange oil, green fig and jungle pomelo essence’. Not having been to the jungle, I wouldn’t know, but it does smell delightful! Really fresh and citrusy and it does stick around even after rinsing. It has a lovely foaming formula, which isn’t harsh like some other scrubs and so is ideal to use a couple of times a week. It’s almost the consistency of thick porridge when you squeeze it out, but really loosens up under water and it’s not overly oily like other scrubs I’ve used so doesn’t leave any residue on the skin.

I actually like to use it on the backs of my hands which get really dry in the winter months followed by a slather of Soap & Glory Hand Food. They also get a bonus point from me for putting it in a tube so no fiddling trying to open it in the shower or gritty body scrub up your fingernails! :-)

Have you tried Pulp Friction? What did you think?
